Use Praxis with AI apps
Connect Praxis to ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor and other AI apps. You can then ask the app to show your board, find and update tickets, comment, and draft stakeholder updates without leaving the conversation.
Every app uses the same address:
https://praxis.theorem-labs.com/mcp
Before you start
You need a Praxis account with access to at least one project. Praxis is invitation-only: ask your organization's admin for an invitation, or contact us to set up a new organization.
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
- Open Claude's Settings › Connectors. If Praxis is listed, select it and choose Connect. Otherwise choose Add custom connector, name it Praxis and paste the address above.
- Sign in to Praxis when asked and approve access (see Choosing what the app can do).
- In a new chat, ask “Show me my Praxis board.” Connectors added on the web also work in the desktop and mobile apps.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings › Apps. If Praxis is listed, select it and choose Connect.
- If it isn't listed yet, turn on Developer mode under the advanced settings, choose Create, name it Praxis, paste the address and choose OAuth.
- Sign in to Praxis and approve access. In a new chat, pick Praxis from the + menu and ask about your work.
Claude Code
Install the Praxis plugin, which also adds the ticket workflow skill:
claude plugin marketplace add Theorem-Labs-LLC/praxis-pluginclaude plugin install praxis@theorem-labs
Or add only the server: claude mcp add --transport http praxis https://praxis.theorem-labs.com/mcp. Run /mcp and choose Praxis to sign in.
Codex
codex mcp add praxis --url https://praxis.theorem-labs.com/mcp
Codex opens the sign-in page. If it doesn't, run codex mcp login praxis.
Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other editors
Add a remote MCP server using the address above. The editor opens Praxis to sign in the first time it connects.
Choosing what the app can do
When an app connects, Praxis shows an approval page. You choose:
- Organization: which of your organizations the app works in.
- Projects: which projects it can see. Admins can allow every project.
- Permissions: Read and update, or Read only. An app never gets more access than your own account has.
Connected apps can't delete tickets, change settings, invite people or manage members. Those actions always need you to sign in to Praxis in a browser.
See, change or disconnect an app
Open your organization's Settings › AI tools. Each connected app is listed as a Signed-in app. Choose Edit access to change its projects or permissions, or Disconnect to end its access straight away. A connection stays signed in while you keep using it, and expires after 90 days without use.
Troubleshooting
- The app says it needs authentication. The connection was disconnected or expired. Connect again from the app's connector settings.
- “Permission” or “member role required” errors. The app was approved as read only, or your role in that project is Viewer. Choose Edit access in Settings › AI tools.
- A ticket isn't found. The app can only see the projects you approved. Add the project with Edit access.
